Black and white Conversion

I am using Photoshop CS2.this tutorial works for other versions too with little variation

This tutorial will teach you how to make your color pictures into black and white.

First open the image you want to change into photoshop.I am using the beautiful Aishwarya rai's picture I found on Google.

Now go to Layer >> new adjustment layer >> Gradient map.
A pop box will come like this.

Select ok and your image will turn into something like this.

Neat?? no not yet.Now you can play around with brightnes and contrast to make it look like good.
Go to Layer >> new adjustment layer >> Brightness/contrast.popup box appears and you have to change the settings until you like what you see. These are my settings.

and you will end up with something like this

Now you want to see the difference with just grayscaling and playing with brightness and contrast.

Well thats about it.

If this tutorial helped you. Please do link me:)
